If I type in two keywords in the entry field on the top then pattern1 OR pattern2 is searched.
How can I tell TR to search only for torrents which contain BOTH keywords?

Good news! TorrentRover has a feature to search like you want.
Open Tools -> Preferences -> Filtering (tab) -> Content Filtering and select the option "Remove results that don't match all search terms". Keep in mind that this is a global setting, so all searches will follow this rule.
