What exactly is open candy PUA in the installer used for. Norton internet security has deleted it three times. I finally had to tell it to ignore files. is this a security risk

I had no idea what PUA OpenCandy was, so I googled it, and this is what I found...

https://www.symantec.com/security_respo ... 08-2532-99

It appears to be some kind of bundled third party ads or tools.

There are no ads or bundled junkware in TorrentRover. Only TorrentRover and uTorrent Portable, and I actually set the settings in uTorrent to not show any of the ads. It's cleaner than the version you would get from uTorrent.com. And it is only used when you don't already have an installed torrent client on your machine. It is a backup app only.

In other words, there is absolutely NO ads, malware, viruses, etc. in TorrentRover.

Thank you for the reply. The reason I thought it was your installer ii because lately when I would update Torrent rover immediately while running the installer Norton would delete PUA open candy. which I understand is in uTorrent. why this happened while updating TorrentRover is beyond me. I use utorrent Pro. While utorrent will work if files were deleted or quarantined TorrentRover would have to be reinstalled because parts of the program were missing so I would have to do a repair. I'm no programmer. I told norton to leave the files alone. and everything is fine now till my next dilemma.

I'm glad to hear you got it working.

One oddity about our installer technology (or maybe it's just Windows in general) is that when you install something, if any file goes missing, it thinks it has to be repaired, even if it's not actually part of the app.
