Torrentrover can't retrieve connection information

TorrentRover v0.23.4
Windows 7 Professional x64 & XP Professional x86

First of all, let me say, I love TorrentRover. It is a very handy application. However, I have started having problems with it off and on during the last few months. For the past two or three weeks, I have not been able to get it to work at all and I have this same problem on both of my computers. When I start TorrentRover in 7, it goes to the loading screen and never gets past it. If I click on it, it will say it is not responding. When I start the same version in XP, it will open, then close. At the bottom of the screen, it says: "TorrentRover was unable to retrieve connection information." I have an internet connection when this happens. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling TorrentRover. No joy. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm really sorry you're having trouble. I'll do my best to fix it for you.

Unfortunately, this issue is something I'd need more information to investigate. Would it be possible for you to give me a call? What time zone are you in? What time would work best for you?

To be totally honest, I can't see why this would work, but it often does. Give it a try. There's really nothing to lose...

1. Open ""%localappdata%\TorrentRover"
2. Open the TorrentRover.exe_Url_....... folder

Before the next step, if you would be so kind, send me the user.config file inside the folder before you delete the folder. It may help me diagnose what's going on... Just attach it to an email and send it to john@torrentrover.com.
3. DELETE the folder for the version you have (0.23.4.33210). It will get recreated when you open the app the next time.

I never got this to work on the two computers I was having trouble with. I later installed it on a different computer with a fresh operating system installation of Windows 7, and I am currently in an install of Windows 10 and it works just fine on both. It just wouldn't work on those two computers. I don't know why. I haven't had any problems of that nature since.

There is an "updated" method for clearing past TorrentRover settings from existing systems.

1. Uninstall TorrentRover.
2. Delete TorrentRover folder in C:\Program Files (x86)
3. Delete Torrentrover folder in %localappdata%
4. Reinstall TorrentRover.

If it still isn't working give me the exact time it happened, and I'll see if I can find an error report for it...
