Hi John,

Is there any way to add demonoid as a search engine?

There's currently no way for users to add their own site definitions, but that feature is planned for the near future.

I'd have to add it for you. I'll try to get it in over this weekend for you.

We've already integrated the new database design that would allow us to store user authored definitions. Now we just have to build to mechanism to do it. Please be patient. We'll get around to it soon.

Good to hear (read?) that users will be able to add their own site definitions in the near future... will this include the ability to add and search private trackers (assuming that the user has valid accounts and logs into them)?

Also, is TorrentRover able to search by hash? And also individual file names within torrents?

Yes, in theory, TorrentRover can use private trackers. It has the ability to store the information for login credentials. The challenge will be to make sure we can do a passive login to get into the site (e.g. http://username:password@demonoid.me/...). Otherwise it'll take a lot of new code to implement logging in and maintaining the cache to stay logged in.

TorrentRover searches in the way that the search engines it uses can search. If a search engine supports searching by hash, then TorrentRover will return the same results. If not, it won't work.

One more quick note though, if you search for a torrent and find something you're interested in but want to do a hash search for it anyways, you can.

Just select the torrent, click Details, and then click the hash link (if the site supports it).
